Feb 2024 Supply List and More Info - Jon Houghton Oil Workshop
Instructor: Jon Houghton
Description
This workshop will cover the basics of how to paint realistic portraits using live models. The program will focus on how to apply value and color using oil paint. We will be using live models each day as part of the workshop. There will be one model on the first day to allow time for detailed instruction and longer demos. The other two days will have different models for each of the two drawing sessions. Model fees are covered as part of the workshop (but tipping the models is always appreciated). This workshop will be useful for both experienced artists and those that have not used oil paints in the past. Attendees should have some basic understanding of how to sketch a portrait. The workshop will start at 9:00 am each morning, lunch is from 12:00 to 1:30 and the workshop ends at 4:30. The Guild will be open from 8:30 to 5:00 to allow time for prep and cleanup.
